Abstract

This current post-doctoral research plan, inserted on the project "CoPolis - social co-production of the city and citizen Science. A comparative perspective on working class and precarious neighbourhoods in France and in Brazil", have as a proposal to understand agencies and means of resistance from the urban population on precarious conditions on the North and South areas in the Rio de Janeiro city, with special emphasis on the relation between State, university and other institutional agents, which is involved on those means of organization. Therefore, we will seek to understand the construction of urban locations that are considered peripheral and outside the State. The goals involve urban housing projects at different levels, with legal settlements on the land, urban, building, urban technical projects - environmental sanitation, drainage, public space improvements, and others - and building improvement projects, included in the scope of this project as "social co-production of the city".
