Abstract

Circular Economy (CE) represents a new emerging concept and a new business ecosystem trend, aiming to transform the current economic model to a more resilient one. Disruptive innovations in business model are a path for the CE transition. Product-as-a-service is one type of circular business model (CBM), which is the most powerful one to foster CE development, since it enables the dematerialization. Innovate in business models requires organizational learning, flexibility, reconfiguration of organizational structures and culture. Moreover, implementation of Product-as-a-service (PaaS) business model requires complex and dynamic changes in the business strategy, business model, product/service, processes, competences, organizational culture, and values. However, few studies are dedicated to study the organizational aspects that should be changed to the development of a CE-oriented culture. Thus, the aim of this research is to propose the use of innovation management and organizational learning concepts to develop the first version of the cultural roadmap for the transition towards the CE. Similar studies were not found in literature and, therefore, new perspectives can be provided. The development of this research, consists in three stages: literature review, expert's consultation and pilot application of the roadmap. The main contribution is the integration of innovation management and organizational learning concepts in the development of a cultural roadmap to foster the transition to a CE-oriented culture. It is expected to provide reliable and practical results that foster the transition to a more circular system adherent to different companies and cultures. (AU)
