This research will investigate the contribution of digital and digitized photographic images available on the Internet to the formation of the São Paulo imaginary in this pandemic period. Photographic images from online public and private institutions will be considered, as well as collections and/or sets of images from non-institutional initiatives based on their own websites and/or social networks (Instagram and Facebook). We intend to investigate with special attention the contribution of the so-called "peripheral" images, non-institutional and/or counter-hegemonic, in the production of the recent photographic image of the city of São Paulo - notably during the Covid-19 Pandemic -, aiming to understand how Web initiatives and punctual, local, transformative collective actions can be referential for an eventual transformation of the understanding of the totality and local specificities of the São Paulo metropolis. This research seeks to delineate the "state of the art" of Web interactions of such photographic productions, analyzing and interpreting their recent transformations, their contributions, convergences, divergences, and conflicts in the construction of imageries (sets of sensitive images) and imaginaries concerning the paradoxes that are formed between the abstraction of totality and the concrete condition of particularities, in order to stimulate understandings and comprehensions closer to the partialities and fragmentations characteristic of São Paulo. Moreover, this research is integrated into the research project "Urban Imaginaries: comparative perspectives, experiments and exchanges between the metropolises of Lyon/Saint-Étienne and São Paulo" - Cooperation Agreements FAPESP/Université de Lyon - Regular Aid (2020/06258-3), integrating and contributing directly to the line dedicated to the study of photographic initiatives on the Web in São Paulo.
