Abstract

The detection of Sun-Induced Fluorescence (SIF) by several sensors has opened new possibilities of studying the carbon cycle in the globe, however, the use of airborne sensors is still very low, despite their higher spatial resolution. Considering the potential of this technology, the objective of this project is to use different SIF monitoring techniques and indirectly validate them using the SCOPE model to relate the SIF to the GPP and possibly identify carbon sinks, for this, the work will be conducted in Grosseto - Italy. HyPlant sensors, OCO-2, and FLOX system will be used to obtain data about the SIF. Using the SCOPE model, the SIF will be simulated for different phenological stages. The data will be submitted to descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and linear regression with adjustment estimation of the coefficient of determination, also the experimental variogram model of the spatialization will be in function of the distances between two locations. At the end of this study, it is intended to elucidate questions regarding the spatiotemporal variability of the SIF and its relation with CO2 sinks. (AU)
