Abstract

The aim of this study will be to assess the impact of social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic on behavioral eating habits, screen time and physical activity practices in overweight and obese children. The sample will be constructed by 90 children, between 7 and 12 years old, who will be divided into obese GO (n = 30), overweight GSP (n = 30) and GN children with normal weight (n = 30 Data collection will be carried out, involving the following items: a) Anthropometric data; b) The child's perception of his behavioral habits; c) The guardian's perception of the child's behavioral habits; d) Quality of life assessment. The analysis will be carried out respectively through pediatric growth curves (WHO, 2007), interview with the child, interview with the guardian and and Pediatric Quality of life Interventory version 4.0 (PedsQLTM) (SOUZA et al, 2014).. After collecting these data, the impacts of social isolation on obesity and child overweight will be analyzed. With this data, it is expected to contribute to the development of prevention strategies for obesity and overweight, considering the implications that the pandemic of COVID-19 brought to the daily lives of children.
