Abstract

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), has caused unprecedented morbidity and mortality in the modern era making the COVID-19 pandemic a worldwide challenge. Despite multiple studies being conducted, little is known about the pathology, its course, treatment, rehabilitation. The Dante Pazzanese Cardiology Institute has been receiving many patients with COVID-19, and for being a tertiary cardiology hospital, it presents a differentiated public from other general hospitals due to the profile of heart disease patients. It is known that some risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension have an impact on the survival of patients with the disease. Several In patients requiring intensive care unit admission, hypertension and cardiovascular disease was significantly more common compared to patients who did not have these risk factors.
