In the Cerrado, one of the abiotic factors that influence plant phenology is fire, which is a natural disorder that interferes with different ecosystems in the world. Fire changes habitat conditions and can affect flowering, fruiting, seed attributes and germination. Smoke also plays an active role in seed germination and seedling growth. Therefore, this project aims to understand the effect of smoke on seed germination and seedling growth in the Cerrado. In this way, it is intended to evaluate the effect of smoke on the germination of 30 species of seeds and on the development of 2 species of seedlings. For that, experiments will be carried out with liquid smoke and aerosol smoke. For the purpose of germination, the seeds will be exposed to treatments and then placed in the germination chamber. Observations will be made every 24 hours, during 30 days, to check the number of germinated seeds. Feasibility tests will be carried out with the seeds that did not germinate, using 1% tetrazolium solution. In relation to the seedlings, these will be germinated and moistened with the liquid smoke solution. Thus, it is intended to understand the influence and importance of smoke on the dynamics of the Cerrado. (AU)
