Abstract

Considering the current worldwide public health situation due to the Sars-Cov-2 virus, face-to-face services provided to special-education people have been severely affected. Particularly, face-to-face services aimed at children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have been adapted by using audiovisual models and adjusting the environment for these services according to the families´ available resources, therefore trying to minimize the impact caused by the routine changes. In order to find effective education strategies to meet the needs of this population, video modeling has been used to teach different skills. Additionally, it is essential to plan teaching conditions to acquire and generalize these skills. Along these lines, matrix training enables the control of stimuli, as well as facilitating and favoring the recombinative generalization. Given that, the aim of this study is to assess the occurrence of recombinative generalization following instructions (action-object), using matrix training and video modeling with four ASD children. A multiple-probe design will be applied between the submatrices, allowing the analysis of the effects of including the independent variable (submatrix stimuli training) on the dependent variable (instruction following). The training process will comprise a baseline, training and generalization evaluation of a submatrix stimulus generalization and probes (using stimuli of the three submatrices). The percentage of correct answers of each participant in following the instructions, concerned with the trained and evaluated stimuli, will be analyzed. (AU)
