In the first conference of The truth and Juridical Forms, Michel Foucault claims that one of his objectives is to show that political and economic conditions are not an obstacle for the subject of knowledge, but what through it is formed and, therefore, the condition for producing the truth. For Foucault, all knowledge is produced from political conditions - from the relations of power - and not in spite of them. In this research, I intend to approach the foucaultian delineation of a "history of truth", highlighting, in the first place, that it is a type of historical analysis that seeks to distance itself from the search for origin as from the conception of knowledge as an invention, taken from Nietzsche's texts. Such conception allows Foucault to formulate the idea that the truth has a history, that is, the history of the formation of the domains of knowledge based on social practices. I will raise some passages from the first volume of the History of Sexuality, from the course entitled Society Must be Defended and from other moments of his intellectual trajectory, highlighting the defense of the mutual implication between power and knowledge in the production of subjects and objects. It is intended, in a third moment, to stress Foucault's distancing from a type of thought that he calls "academic Marxism", a tendency that would conceive of power as a factor that obscures the subject's relations with the truth. Finally, I will show how, in his analysis of power, Foucault approached the theme of truth by taking it in relation to the practices that are related to it, thereby consolidating his so-called "politics of truth".
