The purpose of this research work is the study of the conversion of samples of Cana energy (with at least two different ages) by microbial inoculum, in biogas. The feasibility of using biomethane by the light fleet in the administrative region of Campinas (RMC) will also be studied. The biochemical potential of biogas will be estimated theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical study demands the results of the analysis of the biomass composition. Then, the analysis of fixed and volatile solids will be carried out in order to follow the standards determined in the German methodology VDI4630-2006, for the anaerobic digestion (AD). These studies will also be compared to the scarce data in the literature on biogas from Energy Cane. During the AD period, the volume of biogas will be quantified and analyzed. Still following the methodology, the gas will be quantified through displacement of the water column, monitoring and production variations throughout the process are possible. At qualitative measurements will be made by gas chromatography, to be carried out in our laboratory Biochemical Engineering, Biorefining and Products of Renewable Origin (LEBBPOR).
