The care for the victim of sexual violence performed in health services is extremely important to try to minimize the occurrence of negative consequences. It is necessary for the service team to be composed of different professionals and the literature shows that the training of health professionals is a fundamental element for the provision of an adequate and higher quality service. More specifically in relation to the area of Psychology, the provision of psychological support is of great importance, as it contributes to coping with the consequences of the violence experienced; however, these professionals are not always prepared for this service. To answer these research problem about the initial or continuing training, as well as what other factors influence the preparation of this professional in the exercise of their profession in relation to this specific demand, this qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study is proposed, which aims to investigate, from the reports of psychologists, the factors in their academic education and / or in their personal life that contribute (or not) to the conduct of cases of sexual violence in clinical practice. It is estimated the participation of 8 psychologists, graduated between 1 and 4 years ago, working in the clinical area and that have attended cases of sexual violence. A semi-structured interview will be conducted, recorded in audio and fully transcribed for later content analysis, to the elaboration of thematic categories. It is hope that the results will help to clarify the factors that contribute in the training of psychologists (as) to act in the best possible way in the psychological care for victims of sexual violence and to show if there is evidence about the need for investment in the courses training of these profissionals.
