Abstract

This project was born in the research network of the Laboratório de Escritas Profissionais e Processos de Edição - LABEPPE (UFSCar - CEFET MG), specifically in one of its groups, GP Comunica - inscrições linguísticas na comunicação (UFSCar/CNPq), to study the material formalization (FLUSSER, 2012) of the editorial object "Barbazul", by Anabella López, published in Brazil in 2017. The approach taken is discursive-mediological, that is, based on the framework of discourse analysis of French tradition, considering mainly formulations of Dominique Maingueneau (2008), with additions to the studies of mediations, as proposed by Régis Debray (2000). From the start, we consider some striking aspects of this editorial object that meet what can be referred to by gouging, very frequent stylization in versions of texts, films and other editable forms of expression that exalt the dark aspects of fairy tales (BETTELHEIM, 1986), elements that arouse the interest of increasingly broad audiences, as can be seen in various records (Cf. Publishnews collection). This phenomenon takes place, according to the perspective outlined above, a change in the discursive ethos in widely known stories: in the present case, what is happening with the story of the canonical Blue Beard in this new material formalization? Labeled as a children's book, its dark aspect poses questions about the way in which the consecrated character resumes and, in view of this, we understand that the technique is placed at the center of the production of these senses: it is the relationship between technique and the production of meanings that we intend to investigate. To this end, we take as a reference work from this research network, a methodology carried out in PRIMO, 2019 (Fapesp 2017 / 02030-5 Process) to understand how a book referred to by the author as "for all ages", has the indication "Fluent Reader" of the publisher, that is, "people aged ten or more". In summary, we are interested in understanding how, in these conditions of production, the discursive ethos of this gothic scenography emerges, which is also constituted in its inscriptional materiality - a very burning theme in the current studies of editing process.
