Abstract

The following proposal has a scientific research character with potential technological applications in nano-photonics. The control of the polarization state in the infrared region of the emission of Er3 +, Tm3 + and Ho3 + ions doped in a tellurite oxide glass matrix is the basis for a wide field of applications. This control might be possible using plasmonic nano-antennas arrangements manufactured in metallic metal films such as silver, gold or aluminium. Besides to increase the local electric field in the regions close to the nano-antenna (metal/substrate interface), nano-antennas in the form of nano-cavities are capable of increasing certain modes and can generate which is called extraordinary optical transmission of light. The control of the polarization of light is obtained by modifying the geometry of these nano-antennas, and will provide us with a domain under the state of polarization of light. From a scientific point of view, the mechanisms responsible for this control are still the object of study and are giving rise to new concepts (effects) in quantum plasmonic. (AU)
