Abstract

Establishing care for children born at risk in a pandemic context is challenging and conducive to uncertainty. The present study has the general objective: to understand the establishment of maternal care in the homes of children born preterm and / or of low weight, in the context of the pandemic by COVID-19. An exploratory study with a qualitative approach is proposed, based on the references of symbolic interactionism and thematic analysis. It is intended to interview women, mothers of children born preterm and / or of low weight, who are at home developing care for them. The results are expected not only to contribute to health practices in support of the process of becoming a mother to these children, but also to reach out to child growth and development. Still, they increase the existing knowledge in the area.
