More than 60% of world energy come from non-renewable sources, which are responsible for many different environmental problems. To ensure a more sustainable energy system, the investment on clean technologies, such as solar energy, is fundamental. The development of researches that seek new materials, different processing methods and/or new architectures that enhance photovoltaic efficiency are the only way to increase the use of this source of energy. This research project was drafted once the need of developing photovoltaic cells with higher rate of conversion was identified; it will focus on, mainly, improving the active layer, where photons are absorbed and electrons are released. Block copolymers have the potential in this application because of their capacity to form nanometric domains, which have a greater interfacial area. Thus, they can be used in the elaboration of architectures which maximize the contact surface between the absorbent material and electron and hole carrier material, through the usage of the morphology of the polymer as a framework of photosensitive particles. This work will investigate the deposition of the photosensitive material methylammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) in the domains of styrene-butadiene-styrene triblock copolymer (SBS). Electrospinning processing parameters will be investigated, namely, the concentration of the polymer, the relative amount of the solvents, the conductivity and rheology of the solution as well as the influence of the inclusion of this ceramic compound on those parameters and on the formation of domains. Micrographs will be performed to elucidate the fibers quality and to analyze whether the organic perovskite was deposited in the SBS domains.
