In order to investigate the incidence of gamma-ray emitting outflows in nearby galaxies similar to the Fermi bubbles, we will search for gamma-emission from all Milky Way-like galaxies in the Palomar sample and the 100 brightest quasars - which can host powerful quasar outflows - in the nearby universe selected from the SDSS, using 8 years of Fermi LAT observations. We will perform the analysis and modeling of their emission as well as stacking analysis of data to reveal sources which are too faint to be detected individually. (AU)
