Abstract

he aim of this study was to evaluate type I and III collagen gene expression from "FFPE" samples from experimental wounds in the lumbar and metacarpal regions of horse members treated with topical application of Copaíba Oil. Biopsies of the skin wounds performed on four horses will be used on days three and 21 after their surgical preparation. These samples were fixed in formalin and embedded in paraffin (FFPE) in a previous project. With the use of specific kits for RNA extraction from paraffin samples, RNA will be extracted from each sample for real-time Quantitative PCR analysis (RT qPCR). The data will be subjected to analysis of variance with repeated measures between the studied moments, followed by the F test.
