Abstract

Nonspecific low back pain (DL) is a symptom present in people of all ages, and is currently the leading cause of global disability. Recent studies show the existence of a genetic domain in the appearance of low back pain. When chronic, DL starts to affect patients in different ways, bringing not only physical complications that are directly related to the development of a functional disability, but that start to influence their routine and quality of life. Objective: To evaluate pain, kinesiophobia, functional disability and the presence of procrastination in pairs of twins with chronic non-specific low back pain. Methods: Fifty-one pairs of monozygotic (MZ) or dizygotic (DZ) twins with chronic nonspecific DL will participate in the study. The subjects will be asked about socioeconomic and clinical variables, such as anthropometric variables, alcohol and tobacco consumption and self-reported diseases. The instruments used for the analysis of the variables will be the following questionnaires: for the assessment of the level of procrastination, two scales will be applied: the Irrational Procrastination Scale (IPS) and the Pure Procrastination Scale (PPS); Numerical Pain Scale (END); Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ), which assesses the influence of back pain during everyday activities and measures the level of disability associated with low back pain; Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, level of agreement in relation to statements demonstrate the existence / level of kinesiophobia of the patient. Expected results: This study is important because it intends to study procrastination to change habits in the practice of exercise, kinesiophobia, pain intensity and functional disability in twins with chronic non-specific low back pain (DLCI), aiming to investigate how these variables can influence the pain, aiming to adopt a biopsychosocial view as an ally to the treatment of DLCI.
