We propose a method to convert quantum states of the electromagnetic field between different wavelengths, by using entangled beams from parametric down conversion in an optical parametric oscillator (OPO). The OPO is pumped at 532 nm, giving rise to a bright beam (~ mW) resonant with D1 line of Rb atoms. The idler beam, at 1608 nm, is within the L band in telecom, suitable for long distance couplings and also compatible with fabrication technologies of optical components on silicon and silicon nitride chips.The system will be used to demonstrate teleportation of different quantum states of light produced by interaction with Rb atoms, with the conversion of the frequency of light to the L band. We will begin with the simplest case of a coherent state and then teleport a squeezed state generated by polarization self-rotation and, finally move forward to the teleportation of a negative valued Wigner distribution, obtained by photon subtraction from a squeezed state. Building on our previous work demonstrating the importance of side band modes for the detection of spectral properties of light, we will investigate their use as a dual entanglement channel for teleportation. The technique's versatility in the coupling of remote stations or in the integration of different quantum systems with potential applications in information processing will be demonstrated. (AU)
