Abstract

This doctoral research aims to study the process of autonomization of the capitalist social categories land, labor and capital (MARX, 1983), their transformations and their current moment of financialization (HARVEY, 2004) through the empirical research of the particularity of production relations in Ribeira Valley/SP. Therefor, and continuing our master's, we intend to conduct our study covering four temporal moments: first, focused on the relations between the formation of slaveholding properties, at the same time oh the constitution of communities of former slaves or fugitives, approximately XVIII and mid XIX centuries; secondly, which goes parallel to this but also extrapolates it, when we could find commercial relation (trade of commodities and labour) between warehouses and the communities of ex-slaves and with landowners; then, in the middle of the twentieth century, we have as a goal, study the process of land grabbing and the labor mobility (GAUDEMAR, 1977) that occurred in the region posed by state projects; and finally, to analyze how the financialization process is taking place today, both for quilombola farmers (recognized as such during the 1990s), and for the major producers of banana and cattle today. We hope, therefore, to be able to resume the conceptual discussion on the process of production and reproduction of capital through the study of its territorialization in the particularity of Vale do Ribeira / SP and, consequently, the process of formation and autonomization of its categories. About these, we have hypothetically not only that they changed in each moment, but today they reproduce themselves critically, mediated by the financialization process. (AU)
