Abstract

The main objective of this scientific research accomplishes an investigation about rape as war weapon, through a study case of the genocide in Rwanda (1994). From the documentation produced in 1994, in the sphere of Rwanda's judgment in the International Criminal Court that together with the International Criminal Court of Yugoslavia, it was decisive in the transformation of the systematic and military strategic rape in a war crime, furthermore in a crime against humanity. Our proposal is to make an analytical exercise through a set of documentation produced by the UN, aiming to critically review the thematic and its historical context, intending in the future project of master's degree, in which it will be possible to deepen and expand the research through this initial radiography. Beyond the refereed sources, it's necessary to consider the operation of international feminists groups in the process of combating sexual violence at war, and also the international media coverage.
