Abstract

The advancement of research in Photonics and, in particular, in the study and processing of materials, has proved to be very relevant in the development of technologies and photonic devices. Thus, to make feasible applications in this area, it is of great interest to investigate nonlinear processes in materials, as well as the production of microstructures using ultrashort pulses. Among the materials that stand out for the development of active devices are glasses that have magneto-optical properties, being widely used for purposes of optical switching. This project aims, in this sense, to dedicate itself to the processing of magnetic glasses with femtosecond pulses in order to produce waveguides. In addition, we will investigate the magneto-optical properties of the glassy sample, both in bulk form and in the produced guide.
