Abstract

The demand for materials with properties suitable for use in Medicine Regenerative growth is increasing, especially with regard to polymers to be used as biological supports (scaffolds). This proposal has as main objective the synthesis of new furanic monomers based on amino acids and/or their dipeptide derivatives and the synthesis of polymers from these monomers. The proposal is the use of amino acids as building blocks of the polymeric structure due to the biocompatibility of themselves. The chemical bonding strategy between monomers through the Diels reaction Alder aims to use an efficient reaction, with few by-products, high efficiency, in addition to introduce amine and hydroxyl groups in the polymer structure, which can lead to materials with differentiated properties, not yet studied or developed for possible application in the biomedical field.
