Abstract

The search for new compounds of natural origin is a constant in the scientific community, with venoms being rich sources of studies. Within this context, through a multidisciplinary proposal, this project aims at the isolation and structural and functional characterization of insecticidal peptides, isolated from snake venoms. To achieve these objectives, the isolation of biomolecules will be performed by a sequence of chromatographic steps, which are mainly molecular exclusion chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography on a reverse-phase column. Then, the functional characterization of the molecules will be performed. It is important to mention that the results proposed in this project aim to explore the biotechnological potential of toxins in the development and production of new bioinsecticides. (AU)
