Abstract

Occurrences of pests and diseases in crops are unpredictable in terms of location and timing. However, an efficient monitoring program can provide subsidies that can assist the producer in decision making before biotic factors reach the level of economic damage. A possible way to aid decision making is the use of remote sensing through satellite imagery or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which in a short time can provide important information about the occurrence of the problem. Despite the advances obtained, it has not been possible to identify biotic stress only through aerial images. Thus, this study is motivated by the use of aero photogrammetry in order to characterize the health problem in soybean crop. For this, an area of ten hectares will be used in which there will be fifty georeferenced collections by tapping and visual analysis, and flights with UAV. The results obtained through the collections will be handled in QGIS software, geographic information system technology (GIS), using the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method, to perform data interpolation, and eventually generate incidence maps according to biotic nature in the soybean crop, while with the data acquired by the UAV will be used in the QGIS software to calculate the vegetation index (VI). With the obtained results, it is expected to use the VI together with the incidence maps as a way to increase the accuracy in the identification of biotic stress (diseases and pests) and to help in the decision making regarding the application of future management strategies.
