Abstract

The use of quasi-periodic structures and metamaterials to control wave propagation has attracted the attention of the scientific community for the last decades. A large number of these structures are constructed using additive manufacturing methods, like 3D printing, which leads to a large presence of uncertainties, mainly in the variation of the materials' properties throughout the specimens. Therefore, the analysis of uncertainties in the prediction of quasi-periodic structures dynamic behavior becomes very important to guarantee that these structures can perform their tasks with reliability. In this sense, this research proposal aims to analyze the influence of the presence of uncertainties in the performance of topological modes in quasi-periodic structures, proposing new stochastic models to study the effects of parameter variation in their behavior.
