Abstract

Physical Education as a curricular component of basic education must assume the task of introducing and integrating the student in the body culture of movement, in order to train people to be able to enjoy games, sports, dances, gymnastics, fights, in short, of all bodily practices. From this perspective, the spaces for classes should provide effective conditions to enable these experiences for students, however, what still occurs is that, in most Brazilian public schools, the space for the development of classes is limited to a multisport court, demarcated for four sports: futsal, volleyball, handball and basketball. In this sense, the objectives of this study are to identify and analyze the perspectives of Physical Education teachers on the teaching of diverse contents in the space of the court delimited for four sports. The methodology, guided by the qualitative approach, will be guided by descriptive-interpretative research. Data collection will be carried out through semi-structured interviews with 20 teachers who work in public schools in the final years of elementary and/or high school, in a city in the interior of São Paulo. Our expectation with this study is that it will help us to understand if the space of the sports court influences or not the development in the teacher's classes; how teachers say they develop their classes in this space; how for them, students interact with this space in class; as teachers, if they could think of a new space for classes, what would they suggest.
