Abstract

The aim of this project is to analyze, in the light of the discourse's theories (primarly concepts such as the primacy of the interdiscourse, discursive memory, misconception and scenography), humoristic texts which represent men in relation with the ideal of virility. Thereby, one proposes to answer the following question: the humoristic discourses which represent, direct or indirectly, the masculine figure only reproduces the values and the ideal of virility or, instead, they take part in its construction and reproduction, and, moreover, in the power that said discourses wield over men and over our society? Five are the elements that define the terms of the analyses of this project: (a) the control over sex produces its effects through a sexual dispositive, which acts by inciting the one talk, constantly, about their sexuality and about sex; (b) the masculine domination it's an ancestral myth of an eternal devir over virile values which will never plainly perform itself, but must be conquered at all times; (c) the impossibility of plain realization it's the cause of the countless crises that virility has suffered; (d) the last of said crises has a special value, once it was motivated by the ascension of the feminist movement, and so being the first to not be caused by men; and finally, (e) laughter, as the product of a technique over language and also over the social expectations, responds to this crises when represents men and, one may say it, instigates the continuity of the virile devir. Finally, the major objective of this research it is to comprehend the role of the masculine figure in the humoristic discourse in view of the virile dispositive, taking in account the manner in which it was and still is affected by the feminist event. The analyses' material will be gathered through websites (such as www.piadas.net), social networks (Facebook, Twitter), and physical books, in such a way to cover the biggest diversity of discursive sources as possible.
