Abstract

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been widely studied for use in regenerative therapy, butthere are few studies on the use of this therapy for ovarian pathologies. However, there was asignificant efficiency of the use of MSCs in ovarian diseases in women, leading to the eficacy ofthis therapy in ovarian diseases in bovine females, which are highly related with low fertility. Thepresent study aims to evaluate the effects of the application of stem cells culture on the ovary ofcattle, besides studying the possible influences of these cultures on follicular dynamics andfolliculogenesis. Nelore cows (42) will be used, aged 2 to 5 years, from the Lageado farm thatbelongs to UNESP-Botucatu. Group 1 / control: 200 ¼l of PBS medium will be applied at 5different points of each ovary, at day 0 of the follicular wave. Group 2: a total of 10 million stemcells, divided into 5 different points of each ovary, will be applied at day 0 of the follicular wave.Group 3: 200 ¼l of stem cells culture will be applied at 5 different points of each ovary, at day 0of the follicular wave. Group 4: 200 ¼l of PBS culture will be applied at 5 different points of eachovary on the day of follicular divergence. Group 5: a total of 10 million stem cells, divided into 5different points of each ovary, will be applied on the day of follicular divergence. Group 6: 200 ¼lof stem cells culture will be applied at 5 different points of each ovary, on the day of folliculardivergence. Ovarian biopsy will be performed after the intraovarian applications of the treatmentfor histological examination. A daily ultrasonography of the ovaries will be performed from day 0of the follicular wave to ovulation. The anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) will be measured beforeand after treatments. (AU)
