Abstract This project understands love as a social construction, therefore, permeated by social, cultural codes and beliefs. Due to the popularity and consumption of soap opera as a cultural product in Brazil and a conductor and disseminator of beliefs, we seek to identify the belief about the love propagated in the Brazilian soap opera, having as an empirical case the show "Espelho da Vida (2018)", by Rede Globo television.
