The institutionalization of vaccination in Brazil and France

Abstract

With the resurgence of old epidemics, such as Yellow Fever and Measles, vaccination starts to gain prominence, especially in relation to the obligation of the population to be vaccinated. This fact has been put on the agenda in society since the Vaccine Revolt in Brazil, and the period of hygiene in France. Thus, the present project aims to analyze the process of institutionalization of vaccination in Brazil and France. Study of a qualitative approach with the proposal of the use of the theoretical-methodological reference of the French Institutional Analysis, in the socioclinical aspect proposed by Monceau. The benchmark allows, among several nuances, to broaden the debate between management and assistance. It is capable of deepening and formulating questions that operate in the daily life of institutions and which are not always explicit. The project is part of a proposal for co-insurance between Brazil and France, with data collection in both countries. The study subjects will be parents and health professionals. Thus, the project will contribute to the understanding of the current reasons for the refusal to vaccinate with developments for the implementation of public policies aimed at immunization in health services in both countries. The following tools will be used in the research: documentary analysis, field diary, individual and group interview and participant observation. (AU)
