Abstract

Music perception has become a challenge in the field of research regarding cochlear implants (CI) and, given the need to use subjective and objective measures to assess it in the CI user population, several questionnaires are proposed. Among them, the Musicality Rating Scale, which assesses musicality in preschool children. This study proposes the cultural adaptation of this instrument that has English as its first language. The scale translated into Brazilian Portuguese, in its synthesis version, will be applied as a pretest in parents and/or guardians of children using CI attended in a public cochlear implant service by interview. The questions, suggestions or difficulties of the interviewees will be used for the composition of the adapted version. For this, meetings will be held with the expert group to validate the final version. (AU)
