Abstract

The complex auctorial representation composed by Mário de Andrade (1893-1945), when examined together, offers a rich perspective of his trajectory in poetry. Between Há uma gota de sangue em cada poema (1917) and "Meditação sobre o Tietê", at the end of Lira paulistana (1946), many are the figures he assumes. From his literary début, depicted as fearful and humble, up to the half-blood bard of his final poem, Mário de Andrade created multiple identitarian devices. The purpose of this Phd research project is to inventory and analise, mainly in his lyric, the auctorial images of the Brazilian modernist author, as related to the form of his poems, his esthetical ideas, readings and trajectory in the literary field. The study of the scénographie auctoriale (José-Luis Diaz) constructed in and through Mário de Andrade's poetry will be based on other spheres of his production as well, such as prefaces, letters, manuscripts and his marginalia. Most of these documents are held at the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros of Universidade de São Paulo. Letters, in special, play a relevant role in the set. They permit to study the topic in the hybrid space of epistolary genre (in which life and work are strongly connected). (AU)
