This study aims to observe the effect of different magnification levels Galilean systems loupes on the work posture and quality of restorative procedures under simulated clinical conditions. For this, a laboratory experimental study will be carry out, where the dependent variables will be: 1) working posture adopted during the performance of simulated restorative procedures in Restorative Dentistry; 2) angular deviation of the neutral position of the neck; 3) muscular activity of upper back (erector of the spine) and neck (head explen) muscles; 4) quality of the restorative procedures (preparation and restorations) made during the experiment; 5) visual fatigue perception; 6) time for performing simulated procedures measured in seconds. The independent variable will be the Galilean system loupes magnification degree in 4 levels (vision without magnification, 2.5x magnification, 3.0x magnification and 3.5x magnification). Cavity preparations and Class I composite resin restorations will be performed on the 16, 26, 36 and 46 artificial teeth of a manikin linked to a dental chair. For the working posture evaluation will be used Compliance Assessment of Dental Ergonomic Posture Requirements - CADEP. The working posture will be record by videotapes filmed from three different points throughout the procedure. For the angular deviation analysis, the "Postural Evaluation Software", version 0.69 will be used. The muscle activity will be assessed by surface electromyography of the upper back (erector spine) and neck (head explen) muscles. In order to analyze the quality of the cavity preparation, the Class I Cavity Preparation Assessment - COCA will be used, which evaluates 5 aspects: design, mesio-distal extension, vestibulo-lingual extension, depth and rounding of internal angles. For the quality of the restoration will be considered 10 aspects: presence/disclosure of main grooves, presence/disclosure of secondary grooves, buccal slopes inclination, lingual/palatine slopes inclination, confection of mesial pit, confection of distal pit, buccal margin adaptation, lingual/palatine margin adaptation, mesial margin adaptation and distal margin adaptation. For both the work posture and the quality of preparation and restoration at the end of the evaluation, all items will be added, totaling a maximum of ten points. The visual fatigue perception will be realized through the Visual Analog Scale (VAS Scale), where at the end of each procedure the operator will make a vertical line in the horizontal line of the VAS scale, which will be representative of the amount of visual fatigue was perceived by him to perform that procedure. For this it should be considered as the beginning of the scale (zero point) as no visual fatigue and the final (point ten) as maximum visual fatigue. This register will subsequently be assigned a numerical value by measuring the zero point to the point recorded by the student with a millimeter ruler. The time measurement will be done with the help of a stopwatch. Descriptive statistical analysis will be performed. After verifying the normality and homoscedasticity assumptions, one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post-test will be performed. Data analysis will be conducted independently for the 4 different teeth.
