Abstract

The aims of this project is the preparation of oxides (Cu2O, WO3, BiVO4) and calcogenides (Sb2Se3) by different synthetic routes and to evaluate the effect of self-assembled monolayers (SAM) formation in the photocatalytic activity for water splitting. Also the stability of these photoelectrodes over long operating times (up to 10 hours) will be evaluated. These materials will be obtained by undergraduate students, graduate students (master's and doctoral students) and post-doctoral students, under the supervision of the proponent and with the existing infrastructure at the Electrochemically Manufactured Nanostructured Materials Laboratory (NANOFAEL - http: // www.nanofael.ufscar.br/facilities/).
