One of the objectives of the Thematic Project "Interdisciplinary Research on Intelligent Electric Power Networks" is the study of the power quality (PQ) in the context of microgrids, with special interest in the so-called smart grids, that is, those that have the ability to communicate between the agents (electronic power converters associated with sources and loads). Such converters can be commanded to operate to mitigate various PQ problems such as negative sequence components, harmonic voltage and current distortions, voltage dips and rises, and so on. This requires measurements to reveal the presence of the disturbances. Given the diversity of origin, different modes of identification are usually used (some events are identified by time analysis, others by spectral analysis). Because mitigation of PQ problems must occur in real time, you need to have instant and comprehensive tools for identifying a set of phenomena. This project of Scientific Initiation intends to study about the facilitation offered by the use of images to support operators/ controllers for behavior analysis and decision making in the context of Electric Microgrids.
