Abstract

This project aims the studies for 3D printing of amphiphilic polyurethanes based on poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and polycaprolactone macrodiols. These polyurethanes combine antagonistic properties such as hydrophobicity (PCL segment) and hydrophilicity (PEtOx segment). The macrodiols used in this work are biocompatible, which gives the polyurethane a perspective for biomedical applications. Recently, the Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) has attracted much attention due to versatility, low cost and reduced material loss. The uses of 3D printing include, amongst all, the biomedical field, for the design of tissues, implants, drug delivery and others, which may involve different categories of polymers, including polyurethanes, thermoplastics, hydrogels and others.
