Abstract

The main objective of the project to which this plan refers is the knowledge of the diversity of edaphic mites in areas of natural vegetation and areas of agroecosystems. However, this larger project also has as one of its objectives to detect predatory mites that can be used in practice as biological pest control agents. For this to be accomplished, it is necessary to establish colonies of the selected predators so that they are evaluated in the laboratory, when in the presence of pest/parasite indicative species of agricultural interest. Several studies similar to this have been conducted by the proponent team of this project. The actions planned for this proposal complement actions conducted by the principal and associated researchers of the project bigger.
