Abstract

The coherent X-ray imaging technique development by phase retrieval is very recent. This technique has been demonstrated to achieve nanometric resolution in the last years. In general, for all coherence-based imaging techniques the experimental approach is not simple and demands a lot of effort in experimental procedure, instrumentation, and data analysis, which, in many cases, has not been explored in detail yet. In order to prepare the background for its intense use at the new SIRIUS light source, the knowledge to be acquired in the Bragg Coherent Diffractive Imaging (BCDI) procedures would be essential in the commissioning and first experiments period of the new CARNAUBA beamline at SIRIUS. First, this project aims the realization of a BCDI measurement at the NanoMax beamline, a nanoprobe beamline at the synchrotron MAX IV, Sweden, to study the crystalline structure of ferroelectric vortex domains on polycrystalline PZT films. Secondly, BCDI code development and data analysis studies about the results acquired during the experiments, using the high theoretical and practical expertise of the ESRF group. This study will be an essential part of the current stage of the master's project dealing with a class of CDI experiments that differs from the ones developed until now. This activity will complement our results obtained up to this point in the methodological program, both experimental setup and code developments fronts, in the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS).
