This project is a request from the Research Internship Program Abroad (BEPE) submitted to the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP), referring to the FAPESP 2017/23496-2 process. The opportunity to develop research in conjunction with an international laboratory in Spain, at the University of Valladolid, together with a group recognized for its excellence in the study of materials, will contribute greatly to the research line developed by the scholarship holder, considering the contact with new methodologies and a new research environment, also contributing to the student's growth as a researcher as well as strengthening our research group. Butadiene-styrene copolymer (SBR) is currently the most widely used rubber in Brazilian industry. They are diverse utilities, from the application in tires to the aerospace industry. The various utilities of this elastomer are associated with its reduced price compared to other rubbers and their properties. It is known that the good properties of this material are directly associated to the crosslinks formed during the vulcanization phenomenon, which is defined as the conversion of the macromolecule of the elastomer into a tangle of connections, understanding that this mechanism is essential for the characterization of the material, always aiming its application. In this context the proposal of this project is inserted, which aims to promote the study of SBR from two different techniques, dynamic dynamic analysis (DMA) and differential exploratory calorimetry (DSC), in the Department of Condensed Matter Physics Materials (CellMat), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Pérez. The first study, using the DMA technique, will be used to analyze the behavior of the SBR for three different frequencies, 1, 2 and 5Hz, in order to evaluate the response of the material and to correlate it with its respective vulcanization system. For the second, the proposal is to use the DSC in the determination of vulcanization parameters for the CV, SEV and EV systems. So, the DSC tests will be used to compare the vulcanization parameters of the material, aiming at the evaluation of the crosslinking systems. (AU)
