Abstract

Biorefineries play an important role in converting lignocellulosic processes into energy and value-added products, contributing directly to the concept of bioeconomics, with the efficient use of renewable resources. One of the processes for treating lignocellulosic biomass is fast pyrolysis, which converts biomass into a complex mixture, bio-oil, which has among its composition small organic sugars, such as acetic acid. This work will evaluate the microbial utilization of residual bio-oil from thermochemical biomass conversion processes, offering an alternative and complement to the established industrial complex media for fermentation. For this, the industrially established Corynebacterium microbiological system will be used, which is used to produce various biobased platform chemicals. For their production, different biomass and process conditions will be tested to establish a new additional value-added chain for the production of basic chemicals that do not compete with food production. Tests and cultures will be performed in a 3D-printed continuous flow reactor, preventing inhibitory substances from accumulating, and all results will be analyzed by photometric, enzymatic and HPTLC methods.
