The present research intends to investigate the main arguments mobilized by politicians that characterize their intervention in the public space from narratives anchored in the repression or the use of violence as mechanisms to solve social conflicts. Through their manifestations in social networks during the 2018 electoral campaign, the main arguments that organize them will be mapped out, seeking approximations and tensions between the various representatives of the so-called bullet counter. Based on the seventy parliamentarians identified by Diap as belonging to this group, will be observed the profiles of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, tools of direct communication more used by the politicians in campaign in the last elections. These sources allow us to map which are the terms used with the greatest recurrence, as well as the central arguments and priorities of the campaign, contributing to the construction of a framework that helps to understand the ways in which a punitive culture is sustained and expands in Brazil. The premise here is that acts of violence, particularly those committed by agents of the State, do not only express relations of physical force, but also manifest a set of authorizations and incentives organized symbolically, apt to be apprehended in discourse. It is on this terrain that the present research intends to focus.
