This project is an internship at the City University of New York proposition, as part of the postdoc research entitled Presences of Childhood in the Contemporary Theatre, which began in May 2018, at the Institute of Arts of the State University of Campinas (Brazil). This overseas internship is aimed to be developed both as an academic exchange at the Martin E. Segal Theater Center, home to theatre artists and students where graduate degree courses in Theater Studies is held, and the investigation of artistic practices of American institutions and artists such as Bob Wilson, Meredith Monk, Watermill Center, DreamYard Project, Lincoln Center, MoMa, Whitney Museum e Guggenhein. The primary intention is to investigate the relationships and creative partnerships among such artists and institutions and children, in order to understand how the child's ways of being and acting and its particular qualities of presence and participation can provoke reformulations on the traditional theater and actor conceptions in contemporary times. During the internship, a field research would be carried out, with participant observation method, in artistic processes, presentations and interviews with artists and children. The observations would be documented in a field diary, in photography and video, analyzed in relation to recent research in the field of Performative Arts, Education and the Humanities.
