Abstract The nature of outflows from Supermassive Black Holes (SMBHs) and their impact on the host galaxies are an unresolved question in Black Hole (BH) physics. In order to shed light upon this issue, this project aims at investigating in a self-consistent way the winds produced by SMBHs fed at low and high mass accretion rates. We will use the tools of global, multidimensional MHD simulations of accretion flows around SMBHs and quantify the resulting energy, mass and momentum outflow rates, velocity profiles and wind geometry, which will be compared against observations of ''red geysers'' in low-luminosity active galactic nuclei and ultra-fast outflows in quasars. With this work, we will be able to evaluate the feedback effects of BH winds inside the host galaxy, across a vast range of mass accretion rates. (AU) | |
