In Brazil, the biggest and more complex cities, like the metropolises, and medium-sized cities, present a deepening of the socio-spatial differentiation that point out to a constitution of the socio-spatial fragmentation. This process stems from the Brazilian cities are submitted to the perverse logics of the enlarged reproduction and infinite from the capital and to the neoliberalism dictates, doing with what the urban space, increasingly, becomes merchandise, changing, therefore, the principles and the meaning of the right to the city (LEFEBVRE, 2001). This research projet aim to understand, through the analysis of the spatial practices of the low purchasing power citizens and peripheral, how the socio-spatial logic fragmentary structures and consolidates itself, in opposition to the assumptions of the right of the city (LEFEBVRE, 2001). In this way, the process of socio-spatial fragmentation will be analysed from the empirical dimension of the urban mobility, which is inseparable of the urban accessibility. Linked to her, we will adopt, too, the empirical dimensions of the consumption, the leisure and the labour. For the research that we propose, we have selected the medium-sized city of Ribeirão Preto, located in the State of São Paulo, which, based on several researches already done, present an intensification of the socio-spatial differentiation. Our research is linked to the thematic project of the Research Group on the Production of Space and Regional Redefinitions (GAsPERR), entitled "Socio-spatial fragmentation and brazilian urbanization: scales, vectors, rhythms, forms and contents - FragUrb".
