Abstract

This research project has a principal purpose analyze the impact of printed, digital or audiovisual media in the young people of the city of Bauru, in matters related to the national politics. Consequently, it's intended to understand if how the media chooses to report and portray a Brazilian policy has influence on what youth, which is the future of the country, thinks about the subject, and also if this factor motivates them to move away from the theme more and more. For this, the studies of Luis Felipe Miguel and Flávia Biroli (2002 and 2010), Venício A de Lima (2004) and Mauro Wolf (2003) will serve as basis to understand the relation between media and policy, as well to comprehend the thematic coverage of the subject. For the analysis of the material, Critical Hermeneutics (THOMPSON, 1995) will be used in its steps for understanding the techniques of construction of meaning. Therefore, taking as a research object the young population of Bauru - SP, this project intends to figure out how media coverage of politics is moving away the youth from the themes discussion in actuality.
