Abstract

The present research proposes a cartography, in the field of performance art, from a look at the architectures that the performative body creates for itself, in a sort of artaudian (2006) and deleuzian(2015) autogenesis / body-without-organs, as way to recreate beyond the constructions and/or generated/imposed behaviors by normative forces. The main objective of this research is to analyze, at the interface between theory and practice, aspects of contemporary performance that touches the recreation of corporeal silhouettes in performative actions but which the body becomes a heterotopic and disruptive space (Foucault, 2013), in a kind of artivism (TAYLOR, 2015). To this kind of creation, we call body architectures, as a way of pointing out that the body, in contemporary performative actions, is not only support of the work, but it is a body-work in art-life. In this way, the exercise of the thought around the body in performance aims to point out tools that facilitate the appreciation, the learning, the reflection and, above all, the creation of different qualities of body for/in the art. This research is intended to be developed from material collected in two months of research at the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politcs of the University of New York, which has notably the largest collection of images, videos and texts about groups and artists of Latin American performance.
