It was recently proposed that graphene in the presence of in-plane and out-of-plane magnetic fields in proximity to an s-wave superconductor may host Majorana zero modes. In order to understand the qualitative behaviour of these zero modes, an effective model was proposed, but with parameters that are not directly related to physical quantities. Thus, in a more recent work, we derived the aforementioned model parametrized by observable quantities, which also explicitly takes into account the effects of atomic terminations. Having a model that connects the phenomenological parameters to real world quantities allows one to further study interesting properties of such junctions, namely,nonlocal signatures of topological phase transitions. We propose the following project of Research Internship Abroad, for a visiting period at TUDelft, under the supervision of Prof. Anton Akhmerov, due to his experience in disordered terminations of two-dimensional material and nonlocal transport setups to detect topological phase transitions.
