Abstract

A family that has children with disabilities will need more adaptations when compared to a family with a typical child. Some factors, if present, may be risk or protective. Among the protective factors are the presence of a support network recognized by her as sufficient and adequate and an expressive set of positive maternal interactive behaviors. Among the risk factors is the existence of clinical indicators of maternal emotional health that affect the quality of the interaction and have an impact on child development. Stress, anxiety and depression are indicators of maternal emotional health. The objective of the present study is to describe and compare the level of indicators of emotional health, social support and mother-infant interaction with disabilities, before and after interventions focused on emotional health and interactives behaviors. Will participate up to 30 mothers and their babies from three to seven months of age, whose babies have any type of disability expression. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), the Trait-State Anxiety Inventory (IDATE) and the Postpartum Depression Scale Edinburgh (EPDS) will be used to assess maternal emotional health, as well as the Social Support Scale (SAE) to verify the social support network available. The mother-infant interaction will be filmed and analyzed through the Revised Mother Child Interaction Encoding System (CITMI-R). The intervention focused on emotional health will be performed through therapeutic groups and will consist of five sessions. Intervention on mother-infant interaction with emphasis on maternal responsive behavior will be performed in a meeting based on the filming performed. After the interventions will be applied the emotional health tools and performed a new filming of the interaction. The data obtained with the instruments will be categorized and described according to the cribbles and tables of calculation and interpretation contained in the manual of each instrument. The mother-infant interaction will be coded according to the predicted in (CITMI-R). The results will be submitted to parametric or non-parametric statistical analysis for comparison and correlation of the data depending on their normality. They will then be described and analyzed in light of the relevant literature. (AU)
