The research project "The orientations of Arnaldo de Oliveira Barreto to teachers for teaching and arithmetic: the Revista Eschola Publica, 1893-1897" aims to analyze the contributions of Barreto in teacher training and teaching in specific for the teaching of arithmetic. It is hypothesized that the articles of his papers authorship in the Eschola Publica have been constituted in pedagogical references for the teaching of arithmetic in the primary course in times of the intuitive pedagogy. In this sense, it is asked about "What arithmetic to teach systematized Arnaldo Barreto through his publications in the Eschola Publica?".
